The Pillars Announce The CEO Of ERA Environmental Management Solutions As A Participant In Their Executive Brief On May 21, 2015

The Pillars are pleased to announce the second of three CEO’s who will be participating at the executive brief on Thursday, May 21 at the Holiday Inn Pointe-Claire from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. This brief is hosted by The Pillars, a Montreal based organizational development consulting firm and the topic of the morning will be, “What it will take to be an effective leader in 2020?”

Caroline Samne, co-founder and senior partner of The Pillars comments, “We are pleased to have Sarah Sajedi, Cofounder of ERA Environmental Management Solutions. Sarah Sajedi is an entrepreneur that has taken her vision for environmental sustainability and grown it into an award-winning EH&S software development business. Sarah is an internationally-requested speaker, consulting for Fortune 500 global businesses and working closely with the U.S. EPA as an educator. In 2013, she won the Sara Kirke award for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and was a recent finalist for the national Telus Trailblazer award.”

In 2014, the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) based in London and one of UK’s largest management development organisations, published a report titled, “2020 Vision: future trends in leadership & management.” In that report, they state the core functions of good leadership and management will be more important but harder to achieve. Overall, more than half (52%) of managers agreed that skills such as communication, delegating, goal-setting and motivating direct reports were more important but 46% agreed that tasks related to these skills are more difficult to carry out.

The report concluded that there are three emerging trends. The first is for executives and leaders to understand the core functions of leadership and management from planning to vital people skills and knowing how and when to apply these skills. The second trend revolves around the increase of the flexible working environment and the need to avoid micro-management. The third states leaders need to be comfortable with themselves in order to be flexible and emotionally intelligent.

Anne Pertus, co-founder and senior partner of The Pillars says, “The work environment is changing quickly and leaders need to adapt, learn new skills and learn when to apply these skills or they risk losing talented employees who will seek better working environments elsewhere. Our executive brief will create an environment where leaders can share challenges, discuss ideas and learn from their peers. We invite all business owners, CEO’s, C-Level executives and high level leaders of medium sized businesses to attend this executive brief which will be held on Thursday, May 21 at the Holiday Inn Pointe-Claire from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM.”

Interested executives wishing to attend can call Christine at (514) 505-3069 or email her at Christine@ThePillars.ca. Registration closes by May 15, 2015.
