Dr. Joe Gilson, DC realized that there is a tremendous patient need that was not being met with traditional chiropractic care.
Like most chiropractors, he sees patients with herniated discs, carpal tunnel syndrome, rotator cuff tears, tennis elbow and plantar fasciitis whose problems are not fully resolved with manual manipulations alone.
“These ailments and other similar conditions involve soft tissue such as tendons, ligaments, muscle and spinal discs. Inflammation and a lack of blood supply is underlying cause of many of these problems and although chiropractic helps to correct spinal misalignments, it doesn’t adequately address patients’ soft tissue problems”, says Gilson.
Everything changed in September of 2012 when he discovered the benefits of hyperthermia treatment. “It’s been used in Europe for many years with incredible results and has finally become available here in the States. I-Therm (Molecular Hyperthermia Therapy) is only being offered by about 20 health care professionals in the U.S. and Canada and we’re getting incredible results.”, he says.
Dr. Gilson has successfully treated over 100 “problem patients”, resolving their issues with a series of 3-6 visits using I-Therm.
Hyperthermia–meaning “high heat”–is non-invasive and uses state-of-the-art technology to increase heat to the area which allows increased blood flow and oxygenation to the involved tissue. This in turn decreases inflammation and increases flexibility which results in dramatic results.
“In many cases, patients have been able to avoid surgery and weeks of rehabilitation”, says “Dr. Joe”.
Dr. Gilson has recently taken his treatment to another levelby incorporating PowerStrips by FGXPress into his treatment regimen.
“PowerStrips are a cutting-edge all-natural “patch” that provides the patient with what I call mobile infrared technology.
“They’re a paper-thin, index card-sized adhesive patch that’s worn by the patient for 48 hours between I-Therm treatments. They’re amazingly effective because they work 24 hours a day and they only cost a couple dollars a day”, adds Gilson.
