Monick Paul Halm is a woman who has rewritten the rules for her life and career. With over 12 years of real estate investing experience, not only is she a successful real estate investor and syndicator who manages her own organization, but she also has a #1 best-selling real estate investing book for women and is due to publish a collaborative book with 18 other top women in real estate by the end of the year. She also hosts her own podcast, “The Real Estate Investor Goddesses Podcast.”

Halm has gone from being an accomplished but miserable attorney who felt she had golden handcuffs on to a woman who lives life on her own terms.

Outside of real estate, Halm is also a keynote speaker, abundance coach, certified interior designer, Feng Shui expert, avid world traveler, wife and mother of three amazing kids.

Halm founded her company, Real Estate Investor Goddesses, to create a community for women to show them how to build wealth through real estate investing in a feminine way and show them how they can stop trading time for money and create passive income through real estate. Real Estate Investor Goddesses also offers educational programs and mentorship opportunities.

“The best fit for Real Estate Investor Goddesses are professional women who have a little money set aside that they would like to have growing for them so they can experience financial freedom,” says Halm. “Eventually, these women want to stop trading their time for money, leave a legacy for their family and be able to live the life they want to live.” Halm readily acknowledges that there are many different ways for women to accomplish this. “There’s no one size fits all,” she says, “but we show how women can invest even if they are very busy and don’t have a lot of time. We show how they can create passive investment opportunities that fit their lifestyle and help them live the lifestyle they want to live.”

The reason Halm wants to help professional women invest in real estate is due to her own personal experience. She went to an Ivy League law school. After graduating, she worked for one of the largest law firms in the world and was making a healthy six-figure income, but Halm admits she was miserable. “I felt like I had golden handcuffs tying me to my job,” she shared in a recent interview. “Though I had a great income, I still had loans from law school, and I had a lifestyle that I’d become accustomed to that I wanted to keep.  I was truly miserable working as a corporate litigator for a big law firm, though. Real estate really helped me to get off that hamster wheel and find time and financial freedom so that I could do what I love and feel called to do.”

When Halm first started her real estate journey, she remembers going to industry conferences and seeing that maybe only 10% of the room would be women. “Most of the people in the room and in the real estate game are men,” Halm says. “I have a heart to bring more women into real estate investing because I know it is one of the best ways in this country to build wealth. Getting women into real estate is not only beneficial for women, but it is also beneficial for the world. When women have more money, they give back.  They give back to their families, to their communities and to the world. The world needs more women who are able to do that and share their gifts.”

Together with her husband and her investors, Halm now owns over 1,200 rental units across six states, including multi-family, mobile home parks, RV parks, flipping, vacation rentals, syndication, and ground-up development. She is experiencing financial freedom like she never would have experienced if she had remained at her law firm, and she is able to help other women do the same.

According to Halm, financial freedom is when one’s passive income exceeds their working income. “You can continue to work if you want, but you don’t have to because your passive income will allow you to maintain your lifestyle without you having to trade your time for money,” Halm says. “That’s financial freedom. It’s also time freedom because now you can use your time the way you want. My goal is to help one million women reach financial and time freedom.”

Monick Paul Halm wants to help women rewrite the rules of their life too. She wants them to:

  1. have the choice to continue to work if they want and be in the position to make that determination; 2. show them how to stop trading their time for money; 3. accomplish the goals and financial freedom they desire like she has.

Halm is preparing for her first national Real Estate Investor Goddesses Wealth Through Real Estate Conference. The conference takes place November 2–4 at LAX Marriott in Los Angeles, CA. It is a 3-day event designed to help women get the inspiration, information, and tools they need to invest in their first property. Over 150 professional women from all over the country are expected to attend the conference. There will be two panel discussions, a book signing (see below), and a VIP dinner that will take place on Saturday evening.

This fall, Halm will also be lending her expertise to the compilation book, Wealth for Women: Conversations with the Team that Creates the Dream – the Top Female Professionals Who Can Help You Get Wealthy in Real Estate. Halm was chosen as the lead author of Wealth for Women, which features a collaboration of interviews with real estate syndicators and ancillaries who share insights in their specific area of expertise. The book is published by Smart Hustle Publishing, LP, and is scheduled for release on Amazon.com in the fall of 2018.
