For 23 years, Certified Speaking Professional, June Cline has been entertaining and training people, teams and companies across the United States and Canada. She shares what she affectionately calls IMO’s (pronounced “I” “Moe’s”), Idiot Moments, of herself and others—moments shared by many in the working-world. Cline is author of three books including one of her favorites, “Humor Me: America’s Funniest Humorists on The Power of Laughter.” She is the co-creator and co-host of an International Internet Radio Show on iTunes called, “The Happiness Recipe,” which is all about wit, wisdom and wonderful food. She loves making people laugh out loud and has flipped humor into a powerful platform for teaching the charm and harm of initiating humor and the affect it can have on team building in the corporate world and to Universities and Colleges nationwide. June helps them to identify their comedic culture with her proprietary “comedic styles” assessment.
Lee Ann Stember, President, NCPDP enjoyed having Cline come and train her team. She says, “Our team continues to talk about our Team Building Day with Certified Speaking Professional (CSP), June Cline. She’s a communications skills expert who uses a humorous twist, and she made it very clear there is a return on investment (ROI) when a team laughs out loud (LOL) with each other. June’s exercises allowed us to look at specific organizational processes and places where we could create and even plan a more positive outcome. June’s expertise on how to create laughter in an organization while they are learning is a special gift and talent she says she honed the hard way, from the school of hard knocks. Her corporate and administrative background and stories touch practically every topic that comes to mind such as leadership, customer service, conflict management, retention and more.”
James J. Ness, PhD, a Dean at University of Phoenix invited Cline to speak to faculty and staff from the College of Criminal Justice and Security and found that her teaching really made a difference in the department. He says, “June’s fun and knowledgeable presentation on “The Power of Humor in Leadership and Change” taught us to identify individual and personal “humor styles.” This knowledge alone can have a tremendous impact on the way we interact and communicate with each other. ‘This,’ according to one of the members of the Program Development Department, ‘is a game changer allowing us to not be insulted or take things so seriously when it might just be someone’s humor style or preference.’ And, of course, her collections of “student bloopers” are hysterically funny and poignant in getting the point across that, ‘It is our foibles that make us fabulous.’ She is the #1 humorist in my book!”
Cline has presented at over 1,500 corporations, associations and colleges such as Toyota, PetSmart and the National Dental Association. Cline’s teaching and ideas have also appeared in publications as diverse as Selling Power, Harvard Management Communication Letter, Health Industry Executive, Competitive Edge, Redbook, First For Women and Inc.
This summer, June Cline is debuting her latest project, a one woman show called “Make It a Great Ride” featuring all the best, most requested funniest IMO’s collected from life. Open to the public, the “Make It a Great Ride” tour will stop in Price, Utah on Friday, June 13th, 2014 at the Carbon Country Club (http://www.carboncountryclub.com).
