T. Allen Hanes presents John Duffy, Hollywood line producer the outstanding speaker award at the Speak Like a Champion Tour that was held at the University of Notre Dame from July 31 through August 2, 2017.
John Duffy was one of the 15 TOP speakers that spoke at this Epic business event.
John Duffy is a Transformational Speaker, Film Producer, Director, and Professor who shares a powerful message of overcoming all odds to succeed in life. John shares his unique personal story and journey of growing up in the South Bronx, dropping out of High School at age 15, lead a trip to China and walked on Great Wall when he was 26 to today when he is a a Hollywood Producer and Speaker.
John’s journey from “The Bronx to Hollywood” and from the “Ghetto to Greatness” wasn’t a straight path. He has worked many jobs including factory worker, cab driver, US Post Office mail handler, substitute teacher, oral history interviewer, aerobics instructor, salesman, a counselor with runaways in Hollywood, mental health counselor, actor and finally today Speaker and Producer.
He has produced over 30 feature films. He is also very active and passionate about veteran support activities in the film industry. He considers some of these projects the highlights of his career. He line produced a series of training videos for the USMC and a short film he directed “The Flag” screened at the GI Film Festival in Wash, DC. He remains active as a film producer and is working to bring the inspiring true story of a Houston Boxer who against all odds took Iraq to the Olympics in 2004 entitled “They Call me Termite”.
John has given speeches at NASA at the “You Mission Critical Event”, a Keynote for the Los Angeles Film Schools Salute to Veterans, he has spoken to Rotary Clubs and women’s groups, He has also spoken at Military Veterans training events in the film industry at SONY and Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.
He has also written a Memoir “Black Irish – Not Your Average White Boy” about his life and has a Blog entitled “The Glass is 3/4’s Full” that captures his optimistic attitude of life.
John has a life long commitment to Personal Development. He has worked with Tony Robbins and attended and crewed dozen of his events. He has walked on hot coal over a dozen times, once across the glass, jumped between rooftops in the Bronx and swam with water rats in the East River. You could say he’s had a very unique and different set of experiences.
He has read over 500 books in the field of Personal Development, Psychology, and Entrepreneurship. He brings a passion to inspire others to their greatness and combines it with his street smarts from the streets of The Bronx.
