Kimberly Matthes: Hi it’s Kimberly Matthes

Lisa W: Kimberly, what is your title?

Kimberly: I’m campus director

Lisa W: Excellent and how long have you been with Pinecrest?

Kimberly: I’ve been with them over 10 years.

Lisa: When you think of Pinecrest what comes to mind?

Kimberly: Diversity, family, community, philanthropy. We are a diverse range of schools. We are an environment where students are encouraged, supported, challenged both academically, socially and emotionally.

Lisa: What special events and programs do you have here?

Kimberly: We have quite a variety. Some of our highlights are the fully staffed science lab. We have an array of specialty classes from Spanish, computer, music and art. We offer PE every day. After school the students are offered robotics, Glee, dance, karate and so on. We are a STEM infused school so a lot of science, technology, engineering and math. And we also host multiple family events like picnics, movie nights, dances etc.

Lisa: Excellent, that’s a nice range. What would you say is unique about your location?

Kimberly: The size. We are a fourteen-acre campus. Like being in a forest we have many trees. We have a large pool, and several acre field. Our science lab is very unique. There are no other elementary campuses in our area with a science lab and full time science teacher. We are just kicking off our Accelerated Reader program and we are instituting our new computer lab next month.

Lisa: What would you like prospective parents to know about your school?

Kimberly: That we are a collective group of educators, coaches and support staff who are dedicated to helping manifest the whole student. The applied learning, project based learning and meaningful learning.

Lisa: Excellent. So as campus director what would you say a quote about your school?

Kimberly: Tell me and I will forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I will understand.
