Inspirational Speaker And Stroke Survivor, Marcia Moran, Hits Eight Amazon Best Seller Lists With First Book, “Stroke Forward”

Stroke Forward: How to Become Your Own Healthcare Advocate . . . One Step at a Time by inspirational speaker, Marcia Moran, landed on eight Amazon best seller lists, climbing to number one in the categories of Brain Diseases, Injuries and Rehabilitation, Nervous System, and Physical Impairments on launch day, November 19, 2019.

On March 30, 2014, Moran’s entire world changed when she had a stroke at age fifty-three. This frightening, near-death experience thrust both Moran and her husband suddenly into the need to navigate the complex healthcare system and to take on new roles as health care advocates that neither understood.

The foundation of this book is Moran’s research to more clearly understand what happened and how stroke survivors could thrive. Included are insights from one physical therapist and three doctors who were instrumental in the healing journey.  It is a guide for patients of both strokes and serious brain injuries who are looking for hope and insights into ways to keep moving forward with recovery and includes key insights for their caregivers.

In response to the book landing on several Amazon best seller lists, Moran shared, “My husband, Jim, and I didn’t know what to do when I was admitted to the hospital with this near-death experience. Jim now had to figure out how to take care of me physically, emotionally, and spiritually as well as how to advocate for me. It was challenging as we moved forward one step at a time. I wrote about the experience so that other people in our position would have a primer on advocacy. My hope is that my story will be an inspiration to keep stroke and brain injury survivors striving forward.”

The book is available in both print and Kindle on Amazon

About Marcia Moran
