Dr. Tim Cheuvront, North Carolina Chiropractor, Helps Everyday Athletes

Dr. Tim Cheuvront, President of Cheuvront Clinic of Chiropractic and Sports Medicine in Matthews, NC, helps everyday athletes overcome pain and increase performance through chiropractic care. Dr. Cheuvront received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL and received his Board Certification as a Chiropractic Sports Physician from the New York Chiropractic College.  He has been practicing in Matthews, in the suburban Charlotte area, since 1997 after practicing for eight years in New York.

A widely held belief is that chiropractic care is mostly for people with back pain, headaches or suffering from injuries due to motor vehicle accidents. Other indicators of a potential need for chiropractic care include feeling sluggish, a low energy level, general tightness in the joints, feeling stress or not performing or living at an optimal level. Chiropractic care can be considered a vital part of overall healthcare such as getting adequate and proper exercise and eating well. “When you have proper functionality of the joints to move well, have proper nerve flow, proper circulation and release muscular tension, the body performs at an optimal level,” says Dr. Cheuvront.

The Cheuvront Clinic works with a variety of athletes from college and high school football players and cheerleaders to weekend golfers that want to improve mobility and their golf swing. “I consider anyone pursuing participation in sports an athlete,” says Dr. Cheuvront. “One technique we use is to train our patients to practice PNF stretching which is very effective in improving joint flexibility and range of motion. This is the same regimen that all of the professional sports teams are now using.”

Dr. Cheuvront helps all types of people overcome pain, not just athletes. In addition to in-office treatment, all patients receive counseling on very specific exercises and on ergonomics to follow at home, work or in sports activity to treat their condition. Athletes do tend to be excellent patients because if they need a certain type of care, they will follow through with their treatment plan as they want to get back to their sport or they want to improve their athletic performance. That makes for a very good outcome assessment for them as patients.

Dr. Tim Cheuvront is active in a variety of civic and charitable organizations in Matthews, NC including the Kiwanis Club and the Matthews HELP Center and also is currently serving as President of the Matthews Chamber of Commerce.
