How do you assist your clients?

As a Certified Christian Life Coach, Certified Professional Life Coach, and Board Certified Master Christian Mental Health Coach, I run my own coaching firm called Majestic Talks, LLC. I also host a podcast called The Majestic Talk Show. My main focus is working with women and discovering their purpose. I also collaborate with some organizations that offer free services. I strive to help people find their purpose and address mental health issues like depression, self-love, self-identity, and feeling unloved.

Many individuals I work with lack self-awareness and have yet to discover their life’s purpose. I guide them on a journey of self-discovery and help them understand the depth of God’s love for them. We delve into questions regarding their purpose, the meaning of their name, their personality, the reasons behind their actions, and how their gifts align with fulfilling their purpose in life.

I also collaborate with an organization called Gloo, which provides church-centered support regardless of an individual’s affiliation. We use texting software to address specific concerns, and I respond to various questions to help individuals overcome their fears and anxieties. Some of the individuals I work with have experienced traumatic events like molestation or domestic violence, while others struggle with their relationships due to their upbringing.

Although I assist a diverse range of people, my primary focus within my business is helping women discover their purpose. I also provide training to churches in pastoral counseling, as it plays a crucial role in offering essential support.

What are the biggest benefits of working with you?

I believe that the biggest benefits of working with me are centered around self-discovery and purpose. Many people grapple with questions of their existence and their worth in life. Through my guidance, individuals embark on a profound journey of discovering their true selves and understanding the purpose for which they were created. They come to realize that they are not insignificant or devoid of value. Each person has a unique and valuable contribution to make in the world, and they gain the realization that someone is eagerly waiting for them to fulfill their purpose and positively impact their lives. This profound realization of purpose and self-worth is a significant benefit that empowers individuals to embrace and utilize their gifts.

Another notable benefit lies in my work with churches, where I focus on equipping their staff with the necessary skills to handle various situations. By establishing clear guidelines and providing training, we can prevent disturbing incidents that often make headlines. It is important for churches to evaluate if they are fulfilling their responsibilities and creating an environment where individuals are held accountable. By empowering everyone within the church, including coaches, counselors, peer advisors, and companions, we can cater to the diverse needs of individuals. This comprehensive approach ensures that people receive the care and support they require.

While it is impossible to completely eliminate all problems, I firmly believe that through proper training and support, many issues can be significantly reduced. By fostering a network of caring individuals and creating an environment of growth, healing, and genuine concern within the church, we can benefit the entire church community. This approach promotes personal and spiritual growth, provides necessary support, and helps individuals navigate their challenges effectively. Ultimately, the benefits extend beyond individual clients to impact the overall well-being of the church community as a whole.

What misconceptions do people have about what you do?

One common misconception people have about my role is that I am a counselor when in fact, I am a coach. There is a distinction between coaching and counseling. While counselors often delve into a person’s past and focus extensively on exploring it, coaching takes a different approach. As a coach, I recognize the importance of understanding the factors that may have contributed to present challenges, but my primary focus is on moving forward from the current situation.

Coaches help individuals identify why they may be feeling stuck or facing obstacles in their current circumstances by examining patterns from the past. The goal is to empower individuals to overcome these barriers and make progress toward their desired outcomes. While we acknowledge the impact of past experiences, coaching is not about ongoing therapy or dwelling excessively on past events.

To clarify, as a coach, my role is to assess your present circumstances, identify any hindrances from the past that may be affecting your progress, and assist you in breaking free from limitations. I provide guidance and support to help you unlock your potential and move toward your goals. Coaching is focused on personal growth, forward momentum, and realizing your full potential.

What obstacles prevent more people from seeking help?

Many individuals, especially people of color like myself, face obstacles when it comes to seeking professional help and sharing their problems. There is a pervasive belief that opening up to a professional implies that something is inherently wrong with us or that we are “crazy.” This misconception creates a barrier that discourages individuals from seeking the assistance they may genuinely need. It is crucial to understand that reaching out for support does not mean having a mental disorder. Sometimes, all we need is someone to talk to, someone who can guide us through challenging situations and help us break free from stagnation or a rut. The fear of judgment or being labeled as “crazy” is a significant obstacle that keeps people from seeking help.

As a coach myself, I actively work to dismantle the stigma surrounding mental health, coaching, and counseling. Our aim is to create a supportive and safe environment where individuals feel comfortable sharing their struggles. It is essential to break down these barriers and educate people about the value and effectiveness of seeking professional guidance. Whether it is through coaching or counseling, these forms of support can provide the necessary tools and strategies to overcome obstacles, improve well-being, and foster personal growth. By promoting understanding and acceptance, we can encourage more people to seek help without fear of judgment or negative labels.

Can you provide a specific example of an outcome someone achieved as a direct result of working with you?

Absolutely! I had a client who was struggling with self-love and a sense of purpose in her life. We embarked on a journey of self-discovery together, starting with researching the meanings of her first, middle, and last names. We also explored her spiritual gifts and personality through assessments. This process provided her with valuable insights into her unique qualities and helped her understand the type of work she should be involved in, as well as the specific ways she could contribute within the church.

Through our work together, she experienced a significant transformation. She gained a newfound confidence in herself and her abilities. This newfound self-assurance empowered her to step out and establish her own business. Recognizing her gift of effective communication, particularly in the area of prophecy, she began engaging with people and pursuing opportunities she had never before considered.

The impact of our work went beyond professional achievements. She underwent personal growth and developed a deeper love and acceptance of herself. No longer dependent on others’ opinions or external validation, she stood firm in her own identity and embraced her true worth. This example highlights the positive influence that coaching can have on an individual’s self-worth, sense of purpose, and overall life trajectory. It is a testament to the transformative power of self-discovery and embracing one’s unique gifts and abilities.

What criteria should people use when evaluating a life coach to help them through challenges?

When evaluating a life coach to support you through challenges, there are several important criteria to consider. First and foremost, it is essential to ensure that the coach is certified. Certification demonstrates that they have undergone formal training and adhere to professional standards, providing assurance of their expertise and competence.

Additionally, it is beneficial to assess the coach’s experience and specialization. Some coaches have personal experiences or backgrounds in specific areas, making them particularly knowledgeable and effective in those domains. For example, if you are seeking support in overcoming domestic violence, finding a coach who has firsthand experience or specialized knowledge in that area can be highly valuable. Similarly, if you need guidance in business matters, a coach with a successful track record in building businesses and relevant expertise would be a suitable choice.

Qualifications are another important consideration. Look into the coach’s educational background, certifications, and any relevant degrees or certificates they have obtained. Understanding their qualifications will give you insights into their knowledge and expertise in their field.

Furthermore, evaluate the coach’s track record. Read reviews or seek testimonials from previous clients to gain insights into the coach’s effectiveness and their ability to support and guide others through challenges. Positive reviews and testimonials indicate the coach’s ability to make a positive impact on their client’s lives.

Ultimately, finding the right coach is about aligning with your specific needs and goals. Conduct thorough research, seek recommendations, and consider having an initial consultation with potential coaches to assess their compatibility with your needs and personality. By considering these criteria, you can make an informed decision and find a coach who can provide the support and guidance you need during your journey.

What inspires you in your work?

My inspiration comes from my own personal journey of self-discovery. Growing up in a household with four sisters, a minister father, and my mother, I embarked on a quest to understand my true identity as Latasha. It started with researching the meaning of my name and took shape through spiritual gifts and personality assessments during my time in seminary. These experiences laid the foundation for my business.

When someone comes to me seeking guidance, my inspiration is fueled by the desire for them to have a life-changing experience similar to mine. I want them to undergo a transformation and discover their true selves. The conversations I had with my father played a significant role in shaping my perspective and inspiring me to help others.

Ultimately, my inspiration stems from the belief that every individual has a purpose in this world. Our existence is not random or accidental; we were intentionally created with unique qualities and gifts to fulfill that purpose. I firmly believe that everything we need is already within us.

Recognizing and embracing our self-worth is crucial because it sets the standard for how others will treat us. When we love and respect ourselves, others respond to that energy. Conversely, if we portray a lack of worthiness, we may be treated accordingly. Therefore, treating ourselves with love, respect, and kindness is essential, as it influences how we are perceived by others.

My ultimate inspiration lies in helping individuals realize their inherent worth, discover their purpose, and experience the transformative power of self-love. I believe that by empowering others to embrace their uniqueness, we can collectively make a positive impact in the world.

Why is it important for people to believe in themselves, like themselves, and know their true identity?

Believing in oneself, liking oneself, and knowing one’s true identity are all incredibly important because they shape how we navigate and impact the world around us. Each person has a unique purpose and reason for being in this world. It is not a random occurrence; it is a deliberate creation. God has equipped us with everything we need to fulfill that purpose, including our qualities, abilities, and gifts.

Understanding and embracing this truth is vital because, without self-belief, we may not fully embrace and act upon our purpose. When we lack self-belief, we doubt our abilities and may feel that we have nothing valuable to offer the world. Self-love is the foundation for all other relationships and experiences. If we don’t love ourselves, it becomes challenging to receive love and acceptance from others.

It’s important to recognize that people respond to the energy and perception we emit. If we consistently portray a lack of self-worth, others may treat us accordingly. How we treat ourselves sets the standard for how others will treat us. By treating ourselves with love, respect, and kindness, we establish a healthy self-image and invite others to treat us in the same way.

The principle of treating others as we want to be treated applies not only to our interactions with others but also to how we treat ourselves. We must extend the same compassion and understanding to ourselves that we desire from others. Believing in ourselves, liking ourselves, and knowing our true identity allows us to live authentically, embrace our purpose, and make a positive impact on the world.

In summary, self-belief, self-liking, and self-awareness empower us to fulfill our purpose, experience love and acceptance, and establish healthy relationships with others. By recognizing our worth and embracing our true selves, we can confidently navigate through life and positively influence those around us.
