The Pillars Announce CEO Of Axis Lighting As A Participant In Their Executive Brief On May 21, 2015

The Pillars are pleased to announce the first of three CEO’s who will be participating at the executive brief on Thursday, May 21 at the Holiday Inn Pointe-Claire from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. This brief is hosted by The Pillars, a Montreal based organizational development consulting firm and the topic of the morning will be, “What it will take to be an effective leader in 2020?”

Caroline Samne, co-founder and senior partner of The Pillars comments, “We are pleased to have Howard Yaphe, Chief Executive Office of Axis Lighting. Yaphe received his Bachelor of Engineering from McGill University in 1974, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario in 1976. He holds 8 patents in lighting technologies and 15 patents and patents pending in led lighting technologies. He is a board member of Strategies in Light, and a board member of the Smart Net Zero Solar building research network. We look forward to having him as a participant at the executive brief on May 21st.”

Yaphe dedicated 19 years with Canlyte in Montreal, a division of the Genlyte Group as Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and Product Development. He managed the manufacturing and product design team responsible for 3 facilities and 560 people, producing indoor architectural, fluorescent and outdoor lighting products. He was responsible for the development of products for commercial indoor and outdoor markets.
From 2008 to 2011, he was Chief Technology Officer for the Office Industry and Healthcare Philips Lighting North America where he lead an innovation team of 40 people developing products and marketing programs for commercial outdoor and indoor lighting.

Since 2011, he has held the position of Chief Executive Office of Axis Lighting. Axis Lighting has grown to be an important source for architectural lighting across North America. The company, located in Montreal, Canada, employs over 350 people in a new modern 125,000 square foot manufacturing facility with on-site design, engineering, photometric testing, and marketing. Leading a research and development effort focused on development on new led lighting tools and human interaction with the lighted environment. Focused on development of architecturally sensitive, high-performance, energy-effective luminaires for general, ambient, task, and architectural applications in commercial and institutional spaces.
