Talia Adika looks out for small business owners. In fact, she considers it her calling. Maybe that’s because the health insurance brokerage that she has grown to be an international powerhouse, was once just like theirs.
Adika is principal at TY Health Insurance Brokerage, an international health insurance brokerage that caters to small to mid-sized businesses, sole proprietors and freelancers. It offers plans and products from most major health insurers and ancillary services providers as well as wellness services like yoga at work and diet and nutrition coaching. Less traditional products and services like short- and long-term disability, medical bridge, HRA/HSA administration, COBRA administration, payroll services and more are also available through its extensive partner network.
“Helping ensure small businesses feel supported when navigating the complexities of employee benefits and business support services is at the heart of who I am and what my company stands for. That is especially important as information technology and automation continually advance and personal service takes a backseat. Not at TY. I have a legacy to protect and a mission to fulfill,” said Adika.
TY (which stands for “Thank You”) has been in her family for nearly 40 years. It was founded, owned and operated by her uncle for 32 years before he passed the torch to Adika in 2012. Before joining the company, she amassed broad experience in the industry, managing benefits and payroll and recruiting employees internationally for a major pharmaceutical company and earning not one, but two, master degrees in organizational leadership and labor and industrial relations from Southern New Hampshire University and Cornell University, respectively.
After taking the helm at TY, Adika implemented a number of technology upgrades, hired new staff, added services and offerings for a global audience and expanded the strategic direction of the business.
“My uncle founded the company with equal measures of industry expertise, passion and a neighborly approach. That formula is what made this business and its clients successful and I will never lose sight of that,” she stressed. “We’ve created the ultimate employee benefits and business support services marketplace for our clients. We consult with them on their goals and budget and they can then choose from a full menu of health and ancillary plans and services that we bundle to the ideal benefit package to meet their unique needs.”
“My biggest goal is to reassure clients that they are not in this alone. Small businesses have unique needs. We have been in their shoes and know their unique pressures. We help them fully understand their options and share our recommendations and offer guidance based on our expertise in the industry. We especially stress trustworthy, attentive customer service,” she added.
TY Health Insurance Brokerage has offices in California, Florida, New Jersey, New York and Toronto, Ontario. For more information, go to tyhealthinsurance.com.
