What happens when the creative spirit of a seasoned actor is combined with the social consciousness of a philanthropist and the innovation and optimism of an entrepreneur?
You get Dale Godboldo. Many may already recognize him from his days on the All New Mickey Mouse Club alongside Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling, or from any of his other dozens of roles in tv and film, including a turn in the award winning The People v. OJ Simpson. What people may not know though is that his biggest role may be as the founder and director of International Arts & Philanthropy Foundation, Inc. (IAPF).
IAPF supports projects, organizations and events that address poverty, inequality and climate change through media and entertainment. It chooses initiatives based on their alignment with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals that promote prosperity while protecting the planet. IAPF’s offerings include socially conscious entrepreneurship training, star-studded red-carpet fundraisers for charity, merchandising partnerships and film and television production
“Businesses can be both profitable and socially impactful to improve the quality of life in communities around the globe. We work to move humanity forward by sponsoring charitable initiatives and serving as a partner in programmatic expansion with both non-profit and socially conscious for-profit efforts,” said Godboldo. “I am able to leverage my Hollywood connections who truly believe in our philanthropic goals to help ensure success.”
The organization’s very first non-profit collaboration was for Project Now that provides educational programs and entrepreneurship training for youth in underserved communities. It was launched with
support from both Presidents Clinton and Bush and stars like John Travolta, Halle Berry and Matthew McConaughey participated in associated events to raise awareness.
Yet it’s most notable effort may be through its unique partnership with Disney in which they are the exclusive vendor of Godboldo’s era of Mickey Mouse Club merchandise. IAPF also recently orchestrated the Mickey Mouse Club Reunion at Walt Disney World Resort and MEGACON Orlando, which raised money for a non-profit resort for critically ill children that Walt Disney World has supported for over 30 years, along with a non-profit in Central Florida that promotes diversity and inclusion.
“I’ve been an ambassador for Disney for nearly 30 years. Through that relationship and the strength of Disney’s brand reputation, we are able to work together to do a lot of good in the world,” said Godboldo.
“I believe we’re primarily on this planet to serve. The collaborations we’ve built through the IAPF show that those who share that belief are everywhere. Afterall, what’s the point of making money beyond what you need for life’s necessities if you can’t use it to help others enjoy a measure of comfort and joy,” he added.
