Lynne Gugliotta is a holistic health coach and yoga teacher who lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. Gugliotta recently began her career as a coach after becoming certified through the Health Coach Institute in 2016. “As I was recognizing that I wanted something more [in my life], I found out about a health coaching program from a co-worker. I signed up for the program within days of learning about it. I just knew it was the right next step,” Gugliotta recollects.
Completing a certification in holistic health coaching does not automatically lead to departing from a steady and decent-paying job for a lot of people, so why did Gugliotta decide to leave her solid job for a less certain path of self-employment? When asked in a recent interview why she chose to follow her passion and dedicate herself to the service of others, Gugliotta noted, “As I became more confident that I could help people and change lives, I thought ‘What am I doing sitting here behind a desk, when I could be helping transform people’s lives to be happier and healthier, and lead the lives they dream of having?” .
When asked how she felt about beginning her new career, Gugliotta had this to say, “Once I started telling myself, ‘This is what I need to be doing. This is what I deserve,’ things just fell into place. Events just opened up and lead me into my purpose and passion!”
Know Your Worth
Gugliotta readily shares that her clients are women who struggle with challenges that she understands quite well. In a recent podcast interview, Gugliotta described the fundamental issue women struggle with. “As women, we feel we have to do everything, be everything for everyone else, and we can’t or shouldn’t to ask for help or take time for ourselves. This belief translates into a deep rooted feeling that we’re not worthy of receiving or finding joy and happiness in our own lives, and I want to change that.”
Yes, We Can
When asked how she helps her clients make the changes they want to make in their lives, Gugliotta notes, “We’ll start with specific goals like losing weight or reducing stress. But once we’ve made some initial changes we can take a deeper look at a client’s patterns, because how you do one thing is how you do everything. If you’re not being mindful or careful about your eating or managing your stress, then we ultimately need to look at your belief systems and create action steps to begin transforming those beliefs into new, positive beliefs and habits that will lead you to a healthier, happier life!
