Burby Engineering announced today that its revenue has grown by more than 200% since opening its doors in its Tampa, Florida, location in January 2012. The firm is also on pace to have a record-setting 2014, doubling its revenue from last year.
President and Principal Engineer, Jason M. Burby, P.E., had been working as partner at a boutique engineering firm in Tampa for three years when he made the decision to venture out on his own.
“Two years ago, I didn’t know what to expect as a new business owner, but we’ve been very fortunate. We’ve worked hard to find new work and to explore new markets for our services. The result has been a fairly steady stream of business since we’ve opened our doors.”
It is this consistent growth that has the firm set to change addresses in the near future. Next month, Burby Engineering moves into a larger office space in order to accommodate the growing demand for its services.
“We specialize in structural engineering, building envelopes, and forensic investigations on commercial and residential structures. Through the development of these services, we’ve secured significant contracts with governmental entities, businesses, and condominium associations in and outside Florida,” Burby said. These contracts include a number of notable projects, including the structural design of a healthcare structure in Tampa and the design evaluation of a multi-million dollar international seawall canal system infrastructure. In addition, Burby Engineering is currently providing general consulting services on projects throughout the Midwest and Southeast for a private equity institution and conducting extensive forensic investigations on a multitude of structures concerning issues related to both design and construction.
